She was formerly the Office Manager. *Mandy has been moved from Administrative Assistant to Account Executive. *Jade has been hired as another Account Executive, making a total of two in the office. *Account Executives are responsible for their own group of sales associates. Mandy is responsible for Wes, John, and Skyler. Jade is responsible for Ryan, Mike, and Nichole. They will help the sales associates take care of their customers with the utmost of diligence. They will communicate during the pre and post engagement period with introductions while extending a helping hand for any of their needs or questions. They will also track orders, reorders, and generally fulfill client and employee needs. This was developed to help our team better serve our customers! *Sarah is our new Office Specialist and is responsible for answering phones and scheduling. All About The Professional Women in Building Association

The Professional Women in Building (PWB) is an excellent non-profit association that seeks to help empower, educate, support, and celebrate women in the building industry. At Blind Appeal, we are proud to be involved with the PWB that is part of the Snake River Valley BCA which currently has 68 members. Members of the SRVBCA are eligible to be a member of the PWB. We even have a member of our company on their Board Of Directors! The PWB is an active and energetic organization that has helped thousands of women excel and become passionate about the building industry and beyond. Our local chapter has been around since 1980 and has been thriving ever since! In today?s blog, we?re going to learn a little more about the PWB and the great benefits it provides to our community. Mother?s Day Picnic Baskets Fundraiser This year, the PWB did an outrageously fun and successful fundraiser that any mom would love. They built dozens of high quality wooden picnic baskets that folded out into a delightful little table. These baskets were then stuffed with goodies provided by local sponsors and sold as part of the fundraiser. (Think wine, cheese, bread and other treats!). The proceeds all went to the SRVBCA Professional Women in Building Scholarship fund which helps young women around the U.S. achieve their dreams of getting a higher education and pursuing a career in the building industry. Shed Fundraiser Not only are they building excellent picnic baskets filled with treats, they are also putting together a custom made shed and raffling it off to the highest bidder! Spring Cleaning Your Blinds

We can get so caught up in spring cleaning craziness that we often forget to clean that which is right in front of us: our blinds and window treatments. They are often overlooked or put off until later when doing annual spring cleaning, which is a shame because clean and dust free blinds look so great! So, here is your annual public service announcement: don?t forget to clean your blinds and window coverings this year while spring cleaning! Now that that is on your to-do list, let?s go over some great ways in which you can maximize your cleaning potential when it comes to blinds. Blinds Cleaning Method #1: Sock It To Me! Don?t have a blind cleaning attachment on your vacuum? Don?t worry! We?ve got you covered. Take an old (clean) sock and place it over your hand and then spray it with one or two spritzes of warm water and start cleaning! Wipe from side to side with the blinds fully closed at first, and then reverse the direction of the blinds and wipe the other side. Finish by going over them with a completely dry sock or microfiber cloth to get the last little bits of dust and debris. Don?t forget to sweep or vacuum afterwards because cleaning several sets of dusty blinds can put a lot of dust particles in the air and they will settle on the ground and make a mess on the floor after a while. Method # 2: How To Clean Cellular & Honeycomb Shades To clean your cellular and honeycomb shades, you will need a few different items that you may have lying around the house or they can be picked up at your local big box store. You will need a microfiber cloth, a can of compressed air (like for cleaning computer keyboards etc.), a bowl of lukewarm water with about 1 tablespoon of dish soap, and a vacuum with a brush attachment. Once you have those things, then follow these cleaning steps. Step 1. Dusting your cellular shades. Take your microfiber cloth and gently wipe the front and back of your shades from top to bottom. You may have to take the cloth outside a few times to shake the dust out. Use the can of compressed air to blow out any dust or debris within the honeycomb pockets. You will probably want to vacuum or sweep the floor afterwards as it will kick up a lot of dust. Step 2. Spot cleaning Now take your microfiber cloth and get it wet in the soapy water dish. Use the cloth to spot clean any apparent dirt patches or stains on the shades. You may have to scrub each area a few times to get stuck on grime out. Don?t be too harsh though, as that can ruin or misshape the fabric. Step 3. Vacuuming Once you have finished spot cleaning, take your vacuum with the brush attachment to the shades again starting from top to bottom. Use the lowest suction setting if possible. Once you have vacuumed both sides, then you should be done! Enjoy your new clean shades! Conclusion This is a great time of year to break out the cleaning supplies and give your window coverings, especially blinds, a good spring cleaning to keep them looking fresh and beautiful for months to come. March For Hunger with the Boise Rescue Mission Ministries

As is a proud tradition here at Blind Appeal, it is yet again March and that means we are teaming up with Boise Rescue Mission Ministries in their March To End Hunger campaign. We love helping out our fellow Idahoans and love working with the great folks down at the Rescue Mission. Here are some details on exactly what March To End Hunger is and how you can help. What Is the March To End Hunger Campaign? The March To End Hunger Campaign is an annual food drive that encourages local businesses to hold food drives during the month of March. These drives can be open to both employees and non-employees which includes customers, clients, and family members. It starts March 1st and goes through March 31st. To put a nice button on the month-long drive, it wraps up the month with a ?Can Castle Competition?. Here?s more info from the Rescue Mission website regarding the Can Castle Competition: While not a requirement, anyone who has hosted a food drive can choose to build a "castle" out of the items they have collected and enter it into the competition for the coveted Golden Can trophy. Everyone is encouraged to tackle the challenge as creatively as they like. Can Castle photos must be submitted by midnight on March 31st, and voting will take place on Facebook from April 1st to April 5th.
