The Professional Women in Building (PWB) is an excellent non-profit association that seeks to help empower, educate, support, and celebrate women in the building industry. At Blind Appeal, we are proud to be involved with the PWB that is part of the Snake River Valley BCA which currently has 68 members. Members of the SRVBCA are eligible to be a member of the PWB. We even have a member of our company on their Board Of Directors! The PWB is an active and energetic organization that has helped thousands of women excel and become passionate about the building industry and beyond. Our local chapter has been around since 1980 and has been thriving ever since! In today’s blog, we’re going to learn a little more about the PWB and the great benefits it provides to our community.
Mother’s Day Picnic Baskets Fundraiser
This year, the PWB did an outrageously fun and successful fundraiser that any mom would love. They built dozens of high quality wooden picnic baskets that folded out into a delightful little table. These baskets were then stuffed with goodies provided by local sponsors and sold as part of the fundraiser. (Think wine, cheese, bread and other treats!). The proceeds all went to the SRVBCA Professional Women in Building Scholarship fund which helps young women around the U.S. achieve their dreams of getting a higher education and pursuing a career in the building industry. Shed Fundraiser
Not only are they building excellent picnic baskets filled with treats, they are also putting together a custom made shed and raffling it off to the highest bidder! The proceeds will all also go to the PWB scholarship fund. Watch their Facebook page for more information.
Meeting Information
If you or someone you know is interested in joining this organization or even volunteering at one of their many events, then here are some details on how you can do just that. To join, you can attend one of their regular meetings which are held monthly on the second Friday from 12pm to 1pm. Check out their event calendar here to get signed up for the next luncheon.
