Pergotenda. It sounds a little bit like a delicate Italian dessert, but it is actually the next evolution of outdoor retractable roof systems. For the savvy business owner looking to enhance their dining space or the homeowner who loves to entertain outdoors, the Pergotenda by Corradi has something for everyone. The Pergotenda by Corradi is the right choice for today’s informed consumer. Let’s learn more about the different features to choose from!
To put it simply, a Pergotenda is a featured packed pergola that has a motorized retractable roof. These aren’t your grandaddy’s pergolas, though! These are made with the top of the line construction materials and can be customized in a number of different ways. They can even be controlled remotely by a handheld control or through a connected smart device.
Some Pergotenda models feature a roof structure made from louvered aluminum slats, much like vertical blinds but they are laid out horizontally instead of vertically. You can control the rotation angle of the blades at any time in order to produce the shade level and coolness level you desire. This enables your outdoor living and entertaining spaces to be comfortable all year round. Enjoy your own custom microclimate set to your needs. Welcome to the 21st century, pergolas!
The Pergotenda isn’t just the perfect fit for your home’s outdoor entertainment space but it is great for businesses looking to enhance their dining area and impress their guests as they shop, dine, and chat in a perfectly temperature controlled space. Corradi offers several excellent Pergotenda models made for commercial businesses to deploy. The Kubo model is a freestanding Pergotenda that is modular and expandable and feature rich.
Each Kubo is its own freestanding structure about 20 feet wide and 20 feet deep. They can be easily joined together to make a longer or wider space as you see fit. Businesses can even install blinds on the sides of each Kubo module so that you can have the look and feel of “walls” while still remaining outside.
The key is customization and automation. The Pergotenda is there to fit your needs as a business owner that best serves your customer and your bottom line. Invest in your business’s future with a Kubo Pergotenda by Corradi.
This is a great time of year to invest in your happiness by upgrading your pergola experience. You will appreciate just how nice and inviting your backyard dining area will look afterwards!

We can get so caught up in spring cleaning craziness that we often forget to clean that which is right in front of us: our blinds and window treatments. They are often overlooked or put off until later when doing annual spring cleaning, which is a shame because clean and dust free blinds look so great! So, here is your annual public service announcement: don’t forget to clean your blinds and window coverings this year while spring cleaning! Now that that is on your to-do list, let’s go over some great ways in which you can maximize your cleaning potential when it comes to blinds.
Blinds Cleaning Method #1: Sock It To Me!
Don’t have a blind cleaning attachment on your vacuum? Don’t worry! We’ve got you covered. Take an old (clean) sock and place it over your hand and then spray it with one or two spritzes of warm water and start cleaning! Wipe from side to side with the blinds fully closed at first, and then reverse the direction of the blinds and wipe the other side. Finish by going over them with a completely dry sock or microfiber cloth to get the last little bits of dust and debris. Don’t forget to sweep or vacuum afterwards because cleaning several sets of dusty blinds can put a lot of dust particles in the air and they will settle on the ground and make a mess on the floor after a while.
Method # 2: How To Clean Cellular & Honeycomb Shades
To clean your cellular and honeycomb shades, you will need a few different items that you may have lying around the house or they can be picked up at your local big box store. You will need a microfiber cloth, a can of compressed air (like for cleaning computer keyboards etc.), a bowl of lukewarm water with about 1 tablespoon of dish soap, and a vacuum with a brush attachment. Once you have those things, then follow these cleaning steps.
Step 1. Dusting your cellular shades.
Step 2. Spot cleaning
Step 3. Vacuuming
This is a great time of year to break out the cleaning supplies and give your window coverings, especially blinds, a good spring cleaning to keep them looking fresh and beautiful for months to come. You will appreciate just how fresh and clean your home will look afterwards! Of course, now that your home is all clean, it’s time to plan a party to show it off.
As is a proud tradition here at Blind Appeal, it is yet again March and that means we are teaming up with Boise Rescue Mission Ministries in their March To End Hunger campaign. We love helping out our fellow Idahoans and love working with the great folks down at the Rescue Mission. Here are some details on exactly what March To End Hunger is and how you can help.
The March To End Hunger Campaign is an annual food drive that encourages local businesses to hold food drives during the month of March. These drives can be open to both employees and non-employees which includes customers, clients, and family members. It starts March 1st and goes through March 31st. To put a nice button on the month-long drive, it wraps up the month with a “Can Castle Competition”. Here’s more info from the Rescue Mission website regarding the Can Castle Competition:
While not a requirement, anyone who has hosted a food drive can choose to build a "castle" out of the items they have collected and enter it into the competition for the coveted Golden Can trophy. Everyone is encouraged to tackle the challenge as creatively as they like. Can Castle photos must be submitted by midnight on March 31st, and voting will take place on Facebook from April 1st to April 5th. Info for the March to End Hunger Campaign and registration for the Can Castle Competition can be found at BoiseRM.org/castle or by contacting Sarah Howard, BRMM Event and Volunteer Manager: firstname.lastname@example.org or (208) 343-4680 ext. 1400.
All non-perishable food and other necessities are welcome as donations during this event. Please feel free to donate anything you wish as long as it is shelf stable and is a household necessity. We are currently looking for things like diapers (sizes 4, 5, and 6), baby wipes, dryer sheets, men’s underwear, cold medicine, toilet paper, and much much more! For a list of current high demand items in need, check out this page on their website.
That’s right. You can help us win the Can Castle competition this March by donating food and other necessities today! Just head on down to our office at 16077 N Franklin Blvd, Suite 1 in Nampa or speak with one of our friendly Blind Appeal technicians at your home the next time they are around for an estimate or installation. Buying blinds or other window coverings in March is a great idea because you can get excellent new window coverings and help donate to a good cause at the same time.
Donating to your local shelter is a great way to help your community in a positive way. You never know how your good acts can pay off down the road. We look forward to your help this March and in the months beyond as well!
Nothing beats a brisk fall afternoon tailgating with friends and family at a BSU football game. With a warm plate of food (or two!) and a cold beverage in hand, celebrating our hometown heroes at the blue turf is something of a tradition and rite of passage around here. We love our team and whether they win, lose, or draw, the night ends the same: we’re proud to see our Broncos play. Well, we went ahead and brought our celebration up to the next level, so to speak. Recently, Blind Appeal made a donation in support of BSU in order to become an official Home Team Sponsor. We were so happy and proud to see our name up there along with our boys on the blue turf.
Founded in 1932 by the Episcopal Church, Boise State University (or Boise Junior College as it was originally known) has been an integral part of Boise itself for almost 100 years. Today, there are over 70,000 living alumni in the U.S. and around the world. There are on average 24,000 students enrolled at BSU at any one time and graduates around 4,000 students each year. BSU is classified as a school of “high research activity” as scored by the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education which means that it is in a short but distinguished group of learning institutions in the U.S. that produces a significant amount of groundbreaking research each year.
Being a Home Team Sponsor means so much more than having the distinct honor of being showcased among other local and national brands during a BSU Broncos football game. It means that we are an official part of the BSU history. Our donation and donations like ours help to support the current players and to pave the way for future Broncos. Donating to the BSU program means we are doing our part to ensure that future generations of Broncos and Bronco fans can enjoy the sport we so dearly love. When it comes to being a fan, becoming a Home Team Sponsor is truly putting your money where your mouth is, and we couldn’t be more proud to be a part of any other franchise.
It’s easy to see why BSU is home to not only excellence in athletics but academics as well, therefore it is no surprise that BSU’s official motto is Splendor sine Occasu, which means Splendour Without Diminishment.

The Holiday season can be stressful and hectic and centered around material things like gifts at times, but the real joy of the season comes from the most important thing of all: Family. As a local family owned business, we are celebrating the holidays in our favorite way by spending time with our loved ones and by taking part in time-honored family traditions. This year, we are encouraging our employees to share their fun and unique and beloved family traditions with the rest of the community via social media.
Check out our Instagram or Facebook for a complete collection of our company’s family decorations, traditions, and joy.

What are some of the things that you like to do with your family around the holiday time? Do you like to take a day to do arts and crafts to share with each other? Do you make food together and devour it in a big fun feast? Do you like to make cookies and other sweets to share as gifts and treats with dinner? What is something that you and your family enjoy that others might not? Do you have a special unique holiday tradition (skydiving? river rafting?) that you like to do each December? Holiday traditions come in all shapes and sizes and flavors. The one thing that makes them special is that you get to spend quality time with your family and make great memories together.
Take a moment this holiday season to think about the family traditions and activities that you enjoy and do each year. Make sure that you cherish them and share them with each other every year if possible. And, while you’re at it, maybe try something new this year as well? Traditions have to start somewhere and now is the perfect time to try on a new yearly activity or tradition that you may enjoy from here on out.
As a family owned and operated business in the Treasure Valley, we know that family is everything. Traditions are important because they help us learn about our family history and continuing legacy. We are honored to have served the Treasure Valley for as long as we have and look forward to continuing to serve in 2022 and beyond. Happy Holidays and Happy New Year from Blind Appeal! We provide, install, and service blinds, shades, shutters and exterior shades for families all across the Treasure Valley. Give your home a great present this year and give us a call!
The Holidays. This time of year it’s easy to get caught up in thinking about all of the gifts you may be getting or the fun parties that you will be having with friends and family. We often forget, however, that there are those around us in the community who are less fortunate. It is our pleasure to announce that we are once again teaming up with the Boise Rescue Mission Ministries in their ongoing endeavor to help out those less fortunate in our area. Here’s what we are doing and how you can help.
The Rescue Mission was founded all the way back in 1958 by Christ’s Gospel Mission. It was founded in part to help the local people of Boise in their time of need and its mission continues to this day. Some of the original founding board members were: E.S. Gingrich, Walt Wilson, Bob Freeman, Sam Parvin, James Law, Howard Waterman, Leo Hudlet, Aaron Olson, Mike Watson, Frank Ericson, and Chuck Bradshaw.
This year, we are proud to announce that we have set up a Giving Tree donation center in our warehouse. A Giving Tree is a tree decorated with ornaments that have various needed items on them that businesses can set up in their offices to help facilitate donations from employees. The employees will then take an ornament or two and purchase the item and return it to the tree during the drive. Once the drive time window is closed, then the gifts are gathered from the business and donated to those in need at the Rescue Mission. Currently, we have 55 presents and counting under our giving tree. Contact us to learn more or if you want to participate. It’s good fun for the whole family.
Helping to support the Rescue Mission doesn’t have to involve you even leaving your house. Sometimes it is easier and more impactful to donate discretely and from the palm of your hand as opposed to in person. You can donate online in several different ways. Here are a few.
-Purchase items from their Amazon wish list that will be mailed directly to their facilities.
-Purchase items from their Walmart wish list either online or print the list and take it with you on your next shopping trip this holiday season.
-Contribute money directly online using this handy digital donation form.
If you’d rather donate your time and services rather than money or items, then that works too. They are always looking for fresh volunteers all year round. This is a great way to build lasting memories with friends and family and to directly give back to those in need. Learn more about volunteering here.
Not sure what to do this year? Why not give the gift of help to those in need? Happy Holidays from Blind Appeal! Blind Appeal is a family owned company located in the Treasure Valley of Idaho. Buyer Magnets: The Very Real Curb Appeal Boost From Plantation Style Shutters
Plantation Shutters are super attractive to see on a house. They look like a higher class of window covering. They don’t look like a 3rd party aftermarket product, they look like a full on upgrade to your home, similar to crown moulding, trimwork, or granite countertops. They all look like they were part of the original home design and built from the ground up. Install some today to help get the most out of your next home sale or to feel like you’ve added a touch more luxury to your home without breaking the bank.
Primary Type 1: Composite
These are less expensive compared to hardwood, about 20% to 25% on average. They are a compressed PVC mix put together to mimic the look of authentic wood. Because they are vinyl, they go best in places around the home with a lot of moisture such as bathrooms and kitchens.
Primary Type 2: Hardwood
Hardwood shutters are more expensive, but for a very good reason: nothing can truly beat or replace the authentic look and feel of real wood. These shutters are about 19% to 26% lighter in weight than composite as well, which translates to easier use and less sag over time compared to their vinyl counterparts. Our hardwood shutters are manufactured locally, right here in Idaho!
Different Shutter Options 1: Tilt System (Center Rod)
Features a bar that runs vertically down the center and allows the user to actuate the shutters manually.
Different Shutter Options 1: Hidden Tilt Rod
Provides a cleaner look with no center bar. Can be operated by manually tilting a single louvre that then actuates all of them at once.
All options can come in different colors and louvre lengths that can allow for more customization options and light levels you want in your home. They can also be made to various lengths to go along both long and short windows in your home. The choice is up to you so you can make your next window covering project a success!
Not sure what style of Plantation Shutters will work best in your home? Give us a call! Our experts are here ready to help you find the perfect solution. Blind Appeal is a family owned company located in the Treasure Valley of Idaho. We provide, install, and service blinds, shades, shutters and exterior shades for families all across the Treasure Valley.
Our homes reflect who we are and are a chance to highlight our style and personality. Our homes are where we can gather with our friends and family to celebrate and create lifelong memories. Above all of this, our home is our safe place where we protect and care for those that we love. Ensuring your home is safe for your children and pets is important work. Childproofing drawers, outlets, and doors is something important that we all focus on to ensure the safety of the children in our life. Most of us likely do not consider the danger that window blind cords can pose. That is why the Window Covering Safety Council has designated October National Window Covering Safety Month. Bringing attention to this incredibly important issue is critical to ensure that no child suffers needlessly from dangerous window cords.
The United States Consumer Product Safety Commission has listed corded window coverings as one of the top five hidden hazards in American homes. Infants and young children face strangulation hazards from window cords, a serious accident that can only take seconds to happen. Consumer safety advocates and manufacturers have come together to agree that only cordless window coverings or inaccessible cords should be used in homes with young children.
If you have small children or small children visit your home, it is important to take the steps necessary to ensure their safety. Here are the actions you can take to ensure your windows are child safe.
Replace window blinds, corded shades and draperies with products that are cordless or have inaccessible cords. Products marked with a “Best For Kids” label are available at major retailers all over the United States. The Best for Kids™ certification program makes it easy for parents and caregivers to make the right choice to help them identify the window covering products that are best suited for homes with young children. In order to be eligible for this certification, manufacturers must meet the specified program criteria and submit their window covering products to a designated third-party testing laboratory. Once products pass testing, they may be labeled Best for Kids™.
Looking at furniture arrangement and how it helps or hinders access to windows is important when considering window safety. If you are not able to transition to cordless window blinds, consider carefully the proximity of your furniture to accessible cords. Move all cribs, beds, furniture and toys away from windows and window covering cords, preferably to another wall.
Even if there is no furniture nearby or seemingly no easy access to the window cord it is still important to keep them out of the sight and reach of children. Ensuring that all window covering cords are out of sight and reach, by shortening or tying them up and away, so that they are inaccessible to young children is crucial.
Take time this October to make sure your home is as safe for the little ones in your life as possible. Pass this information on to other families to ensure that they know all they need to keep their children safe. There is no better gift you can give yourself or someone you love than new safe cordless window blinds. Contact the team at Blind Appeal and find out just how easy it is to get sophisticated, stylish, and above all else safe cordless window treatment can be.
